COUNCIL MINUTES

             VILLAGE OF FOREST HILLS

      JULY 6, 2010

The regular meeting of the Village of Forest Hills was held at the Jackson County Recreation Center in Cullowhee at 6:00pm.

The following members of the Council were present:

Clark Corwin

Carl Hooper

Gene Tweedy

Suzanne Stone

Jim Wallace, Mayor

The following Non-Council members were present:

Kolleen Begley, Financial Officer

Anthony Collins, Clerk

1.      Call to order 6:05pm by Mayor, Jim Wallace.

2.      Swearing in Ceremony for Kolleen Begley, Janie Buchanan and Anthony Collins

3.      August Meeting location decided at the Hospality Room at the Ramsey Center at WCU

New Business:

The draft letter is discussed to be sent to the residents of the Village concerning next month’s meeting and a follow-up workshop  The Cullowhee Revitalization Endeavor (CURVE) and the potential of possibly changing the Village name to “Cullowhee” will be discussed.

The Mayor asks the council whether or not the council wants to approve a continuation of landscaping around the Village sign. The contractor for the landscaping was budgeted the previous year. The landscaper, Roger Turk, has been quoted at $2,600 for plants and labour.  The price quoted is disagreed upon by council officers and it is decided that a follow-up discussion will be had at the extended meeting next month.

At 18:40 Jim Wallace asks that the meeting be adjourned.  The motion carries unanimously and the meeting is adjourned.
