Village of Forest Hills Planning Board Minutes- April 2026

Meeting date: April 21, 2026

Time: 7:06-8:26 pm

Location: VFH Assembly Hall

Members present: Clark Corwin (chair), Donna Harris (secretary), Jim Hartley, Robby Hess, Charlie Bell

(Quorum present)

1.      Call to order:

·         Clark Corwin (chair) called the meeting to order at 7:06 pm.

2.      Swearing In: Robby Hess was sworn in as a member of the Planning Board by Mayor Ron Mau.

3.      Approval of minutes:

·         Charlie Bell gave a motion to accept the minutes from the March Planning Board meeting.  The Board unanimously approved the minutes without amendments.

4.      Update from Mayor:

·         Mayor Mau gave the Board an update on conversations with the planning firm Bolton and Menk regarding which planning steps needed to be handled professionally and which steps could be completed by members of the Village of Forest Hills community.

5.      Long Term Planning and Vision:

·         The Board extensively reviewed the Plan NC Framework Seven-Step Implementation Guidelines

o   If the VFH community engaged in completing six of the seven steps, it would require an estimated 200+ volunteer hours.

o   The fourth step, creation of the Future Land Use Map (“FLUM”) would need to be professionally done.

6.      Next steps:

·         The Board will assign responsibilities for the first two steps in the implementation guide: Summarize Existing Conditions (Step One) and Engage the Community (Step Two).  The Board will also make a plan for how to implement these first two steps and identify volunteers to support this work.

7.      Adjournment: Chairperson Corwin adjourned the meeting at 8:26 pm.
