COUNCIL REPORTS –CLARK
- PEDESTRIAN SHOULDER-JM Teague has been contacted about the pedestrian shoulders –Eric Verron has reviewed it
- NEW VALLEY PROPOSAL- Clark met with John & Mike with county planning about the new valley map and proposal from Chris Green which does not include any apartment’s just residential housing. Mr. Green has not filed any application or permits at this time

- No updates at this time.
Open items;
1 .Rules and procedures
A. Update location to where are meeting are being held to our new meeting area.
B. Leave public comment at the end of the meeting and 3 minutes per person.
Motion was made by Mark to leave public comment at the end of the PB meeting and limits 3 minutes to each speaker. Motion approved.
NEW LAND USE LAW CHANGES BY THE NC ASSEMBLY-Mike Poston county planning
- Changes to 160A & 153A to now be 160D
Improve zoning regulations within corporate limits of cities and counties for better zoning
160D is for both cities/counties
- Must have comprehensive plan for land use
- Plans within cities/counties should be maintained or updated on a regular bases...
- Conditional use-changed to special use
- Manufactured homes –Age is no longer a factor as long as units meet HUD standards
- Record of past meeting minutes and zoning maps
- Current meeting minutes and zoning maps
- Current oath of offices
- Refusing positions on PB & Council due to personal conflicts of interest
Most of the Village of Forest Hills ordinances and rules have already been updated to meet these guidelines and the deadline for this is July 1 2022
OLD BUSINESS
- Planning board vacancy
Rick Cardona has submitted an application to council for this position
Council will have to approve and review the application
Chairperson also needs to be elected once we have a full planning board
NEW BUSINESS
PUBILC COMMENT
- Does the new changes to 160D affect our R1 areas? No
changes are needed, our ordinances are already updated.
- How often should we update our comprehensive plan? Every 5-7 years
